About Me
My name is Shauna Kelly and currently I am a student at Mansfield High School. I've been planning on writing this book ever since I was twelve years old. Now that I have the skills and the tools to write I've really been enjoying writing my book. I've been working with my mentor who goes by the pen name Colleen Blackstone. She has written a few books and shares my passion for writing. We meet every week for three hours in a local Dunkin Donuts where we eat breakfast and write. I've been making steady progress however I won't be able to get my first draft done by this year. I will however continue writing my book past the time that school ends and hopefully will be able to publish it.
Writing has been my passion ever since the fourth grade where my teacher let me write creatively. I immediately took to writing poetry and short stories. Even before fourth grade though, I was a reader. I would spend entire weekends with my nose buried in a book; I wouldn't come out of my room for anything until I finished reading. A few books specifically have impacted me the most such as Eragon, The Dragon Keeper Chronicles, and A Series of Unfortunate Events to name a few.
Writing this book has truly meant the world to me and I hope one day that, if it gets published, you take the time to read it!

"Her body slid from the water
like a sword being unsheathed, wet scales glittered in the sunlight." ~Chapter One "She turned the corner to her room and her mind seemed to blank. Nat was holding her shoulders. Her green eyes intensely stared into hers, however they seemed to be flecked with gold."~Chapter Six
